Hi all, this is my first post and I am looking for some tips. I am hoping to travel to Southern France / Northern Spain for the winter towing a caravan. Away maybe three months. Anyone done this before with half a preppers eye on what might be useful - or not! Over and above what might be usually needed for two (retired) people on campsites.

Sounds wonderful! Offhand, I'd say:

- good maps
- compasses
- a solar/handcrank radio that can reach a station whose language you understand!
- water filter
- awareness of the languages
- it snows and floods in those areas in winter - what precautions do you have for that?
- spares for the caravan and the car, and the ability to fit some of them yourself.

Allan, Welcome to LSG :)

My wife and I have spent up to 2 years at a time living in our caravan, with regular periods off-grid, while I was doing contract work in various places around the UK. Follow S1's directions by posting an intro and then pose your question in a relevant thread and I'll be happy to discuss with you what we learnt.
